The CLC USA Leadership and Formation Team are offering the 19th Annotation of the Spiritual Exercises during this Ignatian Year. The retreat will begin this August 2021 and run until May 2022. It is open to any CLC or Pre-CLC member who wishes to make the full Spiritual Exercises. Watch for specific information and the date for a ‘Come and See’ on the CLC Website under Resources.
Every retreatant will meet weekly with a prayer companion in your preferred language (English, Korean, Vietnamese, Spanish, and possibly Polish). The full program will include one monthly small group sharing and one monthly instruction session. The cost will be $250 for the full program. Some scholarships will be available.
Father Arturo Sosa, Superior General of the Society of Jesus, and our World CLC Ecclesiastical Assistant called the Ignatian Year from May 2021 to July 2022 to mark the 500th anniversary of Ignatius’ conversion.
Fr. Sosa invites us to see this year as “a call to allow the Lord to work on our conversion. We ask for the grace to be renewed by the Lord. We wish to discover a new apostolic enthusiasm inside ourselves, a new life, new ways to follow the Lord.”
“We want to take advantage of the Ignatian year to accompany more closely the work that the Holy Spirit is doing in each one of you so that you can feel that call more deeply.” (Message of Fr. Sosa, July 30, 2020).
At the 2019 CLC National Assembly in Pittsburgh, we agreed making the Spiritual Exercises more available. We wanted to have many more CLC USA members have the experience of the full 19th Annotation retreat. We are excited to use this opportunity of 500 years since the conversion of St. Ignatius to deepen our own transformation as a CLC community.
